Sneak preview

The long-awaited (by me) bathroom makeover.

From WILD!

 To boring!

And I couldn't be happier.

This first pictures are ones I took when I was looking at the house for the first time.  The former owner is a realtor, so I guess this is "staged," but it kind of makes me feel like I'm smothering.

There was nothing wrong with this bathroom (or whole house, for that matter), that a lot less wallpaper wouldn't fix.

I couldn't wait for Mike to move back to rip that wallpaper down, so I've lived with bare sheetrock walls and blue taping for a couple of years. Somehow we never got around to it this past year, but once Mike decided to paint, he just did it. Lots of caulking done and more to do, but all the towels rods are hung and switchplates back on, although we want to replace those.

My vanity - all shiny and clean - if a little cluttered still.

Mike's side. I don't think he sees anything wrong with it. Just dig around and find a toothbrush and you're good.  Shaving is optional.

With such a boring color scheme, I thought about picking out a color for towels, but I really like just plain white ones.  A plant and a couple of pictures, and it will be very nice, especially when we get ready to sell it.

I can live with this.

Next, these roses are going to go!

This is what is in my working nook.  I know I'll be more productive when I don't have to look at this.

This is what it looked like when I bought the house - before I turned it into my work space.  Much prettier then (if you like that kind of thing) but too cherub-y.

My yesterday's typing for Daniel.  Now there's more to do before 6:00.

Also waiting to hear about Emily's baby shower last night.  This is the only picture she sent but promised lots more to come.

  1. They are cute. The big one had a onesie on it, but it got eaten at the shower.
