These delicate little baby clothes were just discovered in my late mother-in-law's cedar chest last month. The search is on to find out who they belonged to. They were definitely hand made, some stitches by machine and some by hand, but that embroidery on the slip seems almost too perfect.
I waited until too late to get a good pictures and ran out of time to talk about them, so that will have to wait until tomorrow. There are a few more, but these are the ones that cleaned up best. Soaking in buttermilk worked somewhat, but they're going to take a little more cleaning and then asking lots of questions of those who might know where they came from. I'm afraid we'll never find out.
