Happy Meal Queen

It was a great trip, and I'm glad we did it. Mike and I both have pictures, but it takes awhile to sort them and post them. And time is something I don't have right now. After the unpacking and washing and putting away and catching up on emails, I was just about caught up this morning when the lightning caused my computers to lose their internet connection. It took a couple of hours for it to come back, so I'm way behind today.

One reason why I run out of time.

It took 15 tries to get a decent picture of Darby with her McDonald's crown that she earned on the trip.

Our breaks traveling to and from Texas were sometimes at McDonald's. We had a nice system. I would walk Darby and then get our snacks. Mama always had to have an Oreo McFlurry, and I would order a Happy Meal for Darby and share her drink and fries while she ate those delicious McNuggets.

She was not too impressed with her toys (I always asked for a girl toy when they asked), a mermaid, a car, and a crown.

She did love those awful little nuggets though.

Today is Mama's birthday - 87 years old. She refused a picture because of "travel hair," but after she gets her permanent later this week, I'll take one. The sweet bouquet of flowers and balloon are from Debby. Seeing Texas reminded Mama of how much she used to love the TV show Dallas, so I gave her the first 2 seasons of that on DVD. That should keep her busy for the summer!

I now have to go do errands. The refrigerator is bare. The cat food bin is bare. Bills have to be paid and medications refilled.

Pictures of the trip soon and of my yard which surprised me at how pretty it was after a week's absence.

  3. I'll pass on your birthday wishes from both of you. Thanks.

Darby is becoming the queen of the blog. I wish she could type a little better, and I'd turn it over to her completely. Her life seems to be more interesting than mine anyway.
